CLIA Policy Breakfast
On 29 November, we held a Policy Breakfast in Brussels with the theme, ‘Which sustainable maritime fuels will help deliver net-zero cruising?’ Around 50 participants attended from the cruise industry, EU institutions and fuel suppliers.
The presentation from keynote speaker, Tom Strang, (Carnival Corporation & plc), focused on the work the industry has undertaken to investigate different routes for the deployment of alternative biofuels. Availability and scalability are crucial, and Tom discussed why there will be no one-size fits all solution for the deployment of sustainable marine fuels.
Nicholas Flanders, CEO and Co-founder of fuel company Twelve spoke about the development of different biofuels and their future impact.
